An observation done for Studio II Honors independent assignment called Overlooked Space. I decided to draw the scattered shoes in my grandparents garage during family dinners. The meeting time is always Saturday at 6pm in my grandparents house. Yet, most arrive late. Hurriedly my family members would carelessly leave their shoes at the bottom of the stairs and quickly enter the house. One Saturday, I noticed the odd pattern of the shoes as I was leaving the house. Some were going in the vertical direction, while others were going diagonal. I wanted to capture that moment in this piece because it usually is overlooked. When in a rush, no one looks down to notice the interesting patterns they make with their shoes.
