2025
Mediums: Cardboard, Rubber Stamps, Acrylic Paint, Magazines, Color Pencils, Yarn, and Sticks
Size: around 20" x 18"
The materials I used were cardboard, rubber stamps (to stamp and physically glue onto the piece), acrylic paint (for the skin), magazines (for the hair and the pants), colored pencils (for the shirt and details), yarn (for wings and border), and various nature objects. I used real sticks to give the piece more of a nest feel. The reason I used yarn was to give the piece a more comfortable vibe. For me, a nest is something I can be comfortable in, such as my bed. I drew the girl in a fetal position because that is the most natural sleep position for humans. The fetal position gives us a sense of comfort and security, mirroring the posture of a fetus in the womb. I attached string on the back of the cardboard, so it can be hung in the display case.
